Description:
Senior Database Administrator, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US: Maintain system checks, application-run statistics, data loads and unloads, application backups and recovery. Design new DB components and develop binding cards for loads, unloads and application checks. Manage users or group authentications & analyze data volume, space requirements to build new database regions. Monitor & tune DB environments for improved system performance and work on converting flat files data into a single format and load them in to new DB. Architect and design database solutions to provide technical guidance based on business & industry knowledge, identify and highlight the risks involved in there commended solutions, gather estimates for work effort, & assist with scope change requests, functional guidance and testing operations. Design and develop solutions to integrate local businesses into by customizing and enhancing existing DB systems. Plan & execute Data Migration, Data Recovery, Data Maintenance, high level performance strategy, troubleshooting defects for development, testing, and production environments. Identify risks and issues in large-scale implementation (LSI) projects for the client such as HFCS, PFT, Portal & Order Tracking System. Analyze and understand complex business functional and non-functional requirements, evaluate existing product frameworks and implement customized solutions modernizing the database platforms. Analyze & utilize in-depth knowledge of DB systems to create an estimation & requirements to complete End-to-End DB activities, apply expertise for database management & data modeling skills to review DB design changes to deliver defect free qualify product. Maintain & support production databases which include addressing production issues within Service Level Agreements (SLAs), resolve production defects, perform maintenance & update docs. Utilize: SQL Server BI, SQL Server Data Tools (Visual Studio), Powershell Scripting, SQL Sentry, Foglight Monitoring Tool, Azure Cloud, T-SQL/PL-SQL Scripting. Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or related (employer will accept five (5) years of IT experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree) and two (2) years of experience as a SQL Server DBA, IT Specialist,
