Description:
A growing community bank is looking for a Sr. BSA Analyst to play a vital role in safeguarding our institution against financial crimes such as money laundering, fraud, and other illicit activities. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements while also proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks to the bank.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough reviews of customer accounts, transactions, and activities to identify suspicious behavior or potential instances of money laundering or fraud.
- Monitor and analyze transactional data for patterns indicative of fraudulent activity, using various tools and software.
- Investigate and resolve alerts generated by the bank's anti-money laundering (AML) and fraud detection systems.
- Maintain a strong understanding of BSA regulations, including reporting requirements, and ensure the bank's compliance with these regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging trends, typologies, and techniques related to financial crimes and fraud schemes.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as compliance, risk management, and operations, to address potential risks and implement effective controls.
- Prepare and file required reports to regulatory agencies, such as SARs (Suspicious Activity Reports) and CTRs (Currency Transaction Reports), in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
- Prior experience in BSA/AML compliance, fraud detection, or financial crime investigations within the banking industry.
- Strong understanding of BSA regulations, AML principles, and fraud prevention techniques.
- Familiarity with various anti-money laundering and fraud detection tools and software.
