Senior Automation Engineer

Description:

Selectek is looking for an experienced Senior Automation Engineer III to join a well-established team and take on complex projects with innovative solutions. This role requires strong expertise in automation and control systems, with responsibilities covering project leadership, programming, troubleshooting, and system commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Lead and oversee multiple complex projects while managing scope, schedule, and budget.

• Mentorship: Review junior staff work and provide expert guidance.

• Independent Execution: Manage projects with minimal supervision and report status to management.

• Technical Expertise: Apply advanced knowledge in hazardous area classification, control panel design, and industry standards.

• Design & Review: Ensure designs are functional, economical, and constructible while providing detailed feedback on engineering drawings and reports.

• Programming & Development: Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs using platforms such as RSLogix5000, GE Proficy Machine Edition, Factory Talk View Studio, and Proficy iFIX.

• Commissioning & Troubleshooting: Lead commissioning and system cutovers, troubleshoot automation systems, and interpret technical drawings.

• On-site & Remote Support: Provide expert support for automation systems when needed.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

• 10+ years of industrial facility engineering and design experience.

• Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (49 CFR 195, API 1165 & MPMS, API RP 500).

• Master-level expertise in PLC and HMI programming.

• Proven skills in cutovers and commissioning.

• Deep understanding of valve types, actuators, and troubleshooting wiring & limit switch settings in field applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PE License (Professional Engineer License) preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Contract Duration: 6-month contract-to-direct opportunity.

• Salary: $5760 - $7680 per month (based on experience).
