Description:
As a Security Engineer at Gartner, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the security of our systems and infrastructure. You will work closely with the Enterprise Security Engineer to implement and manage a wide range of security solutions. Your expertise in Zscaler, network security, data protection, and cloud-based security will be essential in protecting Gartner's assets and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security solutions across the organization.
- Manage and support Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA/ZDX) and network-based proxies to ensure secure internet access and protect against threats.
- Implement and manage data protection measures, including data loss prevention (DLP) solutions and cloud access security brokers (CASB).
- Configure and maintain network security solutions, including firewalls and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
- Deploy and manage host-based and endpoint security solutions to protect endpoints and servers.
- Evaluate and implement cloud-based security solutions to secure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environments like AWS and Azure.
- Establish and maintain secure remote access solutions to enable secure connectivity for remote workers.
- Stay up to date with the latest security technologies and trends and make recommendations for improvement and enhancement of security controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement remediation plans.
- Participate in security incident response activities and provide technical expertise during security incidents.
- Document security processes, procedures, and configurations to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
What You Will Need
Strong security engineer professional with 2 + years’ experience of working on IT security projects in a fast-paced, time-bound environment.
Must have
- Strong knowledge of networking and security fundamentals, including TCP/IP, SSL, TLS, DNS, DHCP, NACLs, certificates, encryption, routing, switching, etc.
- Solid understanding of proxies, firewalls, zero trust networks, and VPNs.
- Good knowledge of cloud infrastructure (IaaS) in Azure and AWS, active directory, host-based firewall, and CASB.
- Familiarity with endpoint security solutions, DLP (Data Loss Prevention), anti-virus, etc.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with technical and business audiences.
- Proficiency in documentation and creating network/workflow/UML/Data flow diagrams.
- Skilled in technical troubleshooting across various aspects of security and network infrastructure.
- Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions or escalations with minimal supervision in a dynamic and globally distributed team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
