Security Engineer

 

Description:

Locke & McCloud have partnered with a reputable insurance company who have invested heavily in their cyber security team. This company have a number of exciting projects in the pipeline for 2024 and are seeking an experienced cyber security engineer to join the team.

 

The successful candidate must have a passion for problem solving, excellent technical ability and the ability to translate technical speech into simple terms for senior stakeholders.

 

The role is entirely remote, requiring office contact once/twice a month (London).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure security controls (e.g., vulnerability management).
  • Research threats, security weaknesses and vulnerabilities and find ways to counter them.
  • Provide operational insight to the evaluation and selection of cyber security solutions.
  • Configure and tune cyber security tools and solutions including preventative and detective measures such as firewalls, vulnerability management tools, and EDR.
  • Develop and document security related practices and processes.
  • Respond to security incidents, leading or assisting in initial response, recovery, remediation and lessons learned as necessary.

 

About you:

  • 8+ years’ experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, SIEM.
  • Azure/AWS experience.
  • Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools.
  • An independent style of working, able to complete tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
