Description:
Professionally represent Bloedorn Lumber Company in the sales field managing existing and new customer relationships. Secure continued product sales and generate new product sales to existing customers, and continually seek out and form new relationships with prospective customers.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Build existing and prospective customer relationships through caring about their business, with effective listening, conversational understanding, and trust building, all with a sense of urgency and follow-through.
- Develop sales strategies for each existing and prospective customer.
- Form and execute a daily plan that includes a defined purpose for all appointments, jobsite visits, and tasks to successfully achieve the Summary Statement.
- Utilize advance preparation for all appointments and jobsite visits.
- Review all appointments and jobsite visits to identify the next step.
- Manage customer base through regular contact.
- Maintain an accurate customer Truth Sheet to assist in developing new sales strategies.
- Maintain an active Prospective Account list to assist in developing new sales strategies.
- Maintain an accurate and active quote log.
- Demonstrate effective organizational and time management skills.
- Effectively communicate customer requirements to sales support team.
- Possess in-depth product knowledge in all Truth Sheet categories.
- With your location manager, prepare a monthly and annual sales budget and plan.
- Assist in resolving customer complaints and issues.
- Assist in accounts receivable collection, on a limited basis.
- Be willing to work hours required to achieve the Summary Statement, the annual sales budget, and the annual sales plan.
- Attend and participate in Bloedorn-sponsored training, when offered.
- Perform additional assigned duties or responsibilities based on individual location requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Contractor Sales Representatives must:
- Pass a pre-employment drug, alcohol, background screen and Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Speak, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
- Possess construction industry knowledge and product knowledge.
- Interpret written, oral, diagrams, and schedule-form instructions.
- Calculate figures and amounts (i.e., discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc.).
- Utilize Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Learn and utilize Envisioneer™ software.
- Possess a positive, driven, and team-oriented attitude.
