Summary/Objectives
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for profitably growing sales revenue from a network of distributors/end-users as well as growing market share by winning over new clients.

Essential Functions
- Manage and coach an existing network of distributors/partners and end-users in the Southeastern United States
- Be a road warrior (80%); travel throughout the territory in a customized company van to meet with local and regional prospective & active clients
- Seek new business opportunities among prospective distributors and end-users incl. cities, municipalities, contractors, plumbers, nuclear power plants, shipyards, oil refineries, sugar, and chemical industries
- Perform product demonstrations, joint sales calls with distributors/partners and facilitate product training/end-user education events
- Build up a long-term growth strategy based on your understanding of competition, prices and key market factors or trends
- Participate in roadshows, trade fairs and key exhibitions
- Create an effective business plan
- Define, prepare and manage annual sales budget incl. targets, results, and forecast
- Develop strong product knowledge to propose invaluable technical solutions and strengthen relations to customers (partners, OEMs, and end-users)
- Proactively interact with National Sales Director on a regular basis regarding strategy, sales results, and market trends
Qualifikationen
Required Education & Experience
- 3-5 years of experience selling technical products and/or systems is required
- Bachelor’s degree (business, marketing, engineering, or similar) preferred
- Technical education is highly considered
- Experience in the sewer, piping, or water and waste industries is a plus
- Comfortable being hands-on and doing product demonstrations (hands get dirty sometimes)
- Ability to engage with, relate and sell to all levels from key decision-makers to technical specialists and contractors
- Ability to research, qualify and win new business
- Ready, willing, and able to travel 4-5 days per week within the assigned territory
