Responsible for researching and aggressive solicitation of group business with an emphasis on short term, high rated and less price sensitive bookings. To merchandise as skillfully as possible the guest rooms, function space, and private dining rooms, to maximize revenue potential for the hotel and to ensure that the Customer has the best possible meeting experience.
- Achieve monthly room night booking goals, primarily handling large group blocks on peak nights.
- Achieve budgeted food & beverage, room nights, rate, and revenues.
- Merchandise function space and private dining rooms to attain maximum room rental wherever appropriate.
- Follow Booking Guidelines.
- Prospect, solicit, and develop accounts within assigned market segment(s).
- Maintain aggressive weekly telephone, site inspection, and personal call goals, to include outside sales calls and cold calling.
- Use all prospect sources as identified in the Sales Action Plan.
- Follow up promptly on leads generated by the GSO, other Omni Hotels & Resorts, and other lead sources.
- Follow-up and process group blocks related to Catering Events and private dining room inquires.
- Active involvement in industry associations, organizations, and trade shows.
- Participate in development of all promotions related to assigned market segment needs.
- Continuously refine product/concept offering.
- Maintain files and current trace dates, accurate history, and all relevant booking activity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 1-year sales experience in a management or coordinator role.
- Minimum of 1-year hotel experience.
- College degree in Hospitality or Business Management, preferred.
- Must have proven selling, negotiating and presentation skills.
- Must be knowledgeable about all hotel capabilities (front desk/reservations/room service/catering).
- Solid written and verbal communication, along with excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and provide guest follow up in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have highly developed customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Delphi experience preferred.
- Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
- Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
