Duties & Responsibilities
- Place outbound calls to current and prospective customers
- Visit key accounts to build relationships and demonstrate product solutions
- Track customer activities and follow-up actions within the CRM system
- Develop account strategies in accordance with overall channel strategy
- Single point of contact for all aspects of business with accounts
- Develop account goals and business plans with customers
- Forecast, budget and track account revenues and cost
- Ensure new products are introduced across the accounts
- Communicate through a weekly report the status of accounts, sales and projects
- Understand and respond to trends, markets and products
- Attend market specific trade shows
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree; agriculture, horticulture or business related field is a plus
- 3-5 years of successful, results driven sales experience
- Demonstrated skills in achieving sales, profitability and budget goals
- Thorough understanding of consultative sales cycle
- Experience working with Universities/Colleges and/or Government Agencies is a plus
- Ability to effectively implement sales and marketing strategies
- Ability to effectively monitor category performance versus plan and communicate accordingly
- Ability to interface and demonstrate leadership both internally and externally
- High-energy self-starter as well as collaborative team player
- Demonstrated commitment to building strong business relationships with customer
- Effective, strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
- High level of accountability
- Candidate should possess strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
- Ability to travel up to 30%
