Description:
The Robotic Weld Engineer manages the development and implementation process of the company’s products and services. Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending. Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project i.e. product on schedule and within budget constraints. This job manages specific projects that have a distinct beginning and end.
Responsibilities:
- Work within cross-functional teams to diagnose fit up issues in large assemblies and execute the decided upon plan of action
- Read and interpret weld schedules and program Fanuc robots to create referenced weld schedules
- Evaluate robotic processes and create optimization plans to increase cell output
- Evaluate weld cell performance, create and execute optimization plans to optimize quality
- Analyzes designs, programs, simulations, and test procedures for automated machinery and processes.
- Exercises judgment in selecting existing methods and techniques for obtaining solutions on mainly routine problems.
- Ability to communicate a technical language with programmers by having a fundamental understanding of computer/PLC programming.
- Capability to problem solve using coding, programs, analytics.
- Implements and supports controls architecture with focus on process stability, system availability, as well as ease of operation and maintenance.
- Monitors project progress and performance against project plan.
- Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings.
- Prepare planning options and standards, evaluate cost-efficiency, and provide analysis of both. Take part in continuous improvement process to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
- Supports planning, engineering, and commissioning of controls equipment till final buyoffs of equipment in the shops together with suppliers and MBV production / maintenance teams.
- Tracks budget and ensures production timelines.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 5 years of technical project/program management experience
