Roadside Development Specialist

Description:

The Office of Design is looking to hire a Roadside Design Specialist 3 to successfully help to enhance Iowa s roadsides, by developing projects, working with IA DOT staff to successfully administer projects and provide technical expertise. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying the needs of IA DOT districts, producing plans and following projects to guarantee their success. This position requires strong communication skills, knowledge, and experience in horticulture, landscape development and project management. Requires valid Driver s License.

Typical Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the selection, design, and preparation of contract documents for IA DOT Roadside Development projects.
• Conduct field work to scout, stake and inspect current Roadside Development projects.
• Provide technical assistance to internal staff, consultants, and contractors.
• Work with IA DOT field staff to guarantee the success of Roadside Development projects through proper maintenance and inspection.
