Description:
As a key member of the JD Finish Line design team, your role is dynamic and multifaceted, offering a blend of creativity, coordination, and communication. You’ll translate design concepts into tangible retail experiences, contributing to the success and growth of JD Finish Line retail stores. Space Planning and Interior Architecture:
- Draft and create comprehensive space plans and interior architecture designs for JD Finish Line North America with the integration of design principles and disciplines.
- Contribute to the architectural design process by assessing project scope through briefs, site surveys, and lease documents, and articulate design issues through written and verbal communication, sketches, and drawings.
- Effectively utilize store design guidelines and standards for both exterior and interior development, influencing their evolution as necessary to enhance the brand image.
- Collaborate with architects to create and review schematic, design development, final construction drawings to ensure cost-effective and efficient construction of retail stores and as-built recording and archiving.
- Implement and coordinate requests for changes applicable to projects, swiftly identifying design merits and drawbacks to influence optimal design decisions.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with other teams, including projects, graphics, and merchandising, to ensure alignment with retail objectives and requirements.
- Work with Real Estate, Space Planning, and Visual Merchandising teams to design feasibility plans that optimize site footprints and align interior spaces with market-specific needs.
- Serve as a central point of contact throughout all project phases, resolving site-related issues and coordinating solutions with internal and external partners.
- Communicate design plans and updates to key stakeholders such as Architects, Construction Project Managers, and Visual Merchandising, ensuring clarity and consistency.
- Travel is approximately 25%.

Required Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design (or related major) or relevant and equivalent experience.
- 3-6 years of relevant professional experience delivering a variety of design projects from conception through implementation
- Experience in construction and shop fitting, along with strong working knowledge of building regulations.
- Experience in the sports/fashion retail industry preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other stakeholders.
