Retail Sales Associate

A VMFA Shop Sales Associate’s primary role is to provide the highest level of product knowledge and service to guests visiting the museum. Sales Associates report to and partner with management, who will delegate tasks to help accomplish the shop’s goals. Sales associates will work alongside our staff and volunteers to promote a positive, inclusive and friendly environment. This position is a part-time, non-exempt position without benefits, working 20-28 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• • Available and willing to assist customers on the sales floor or assigned area for majority of shift.
  • Drives sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge.
  • Greets and receives customers in a welcoming manner.
  • Responds to customers’ questions.
  • Provides outstanding customer service.
  • Manages financial transactions.
  • Processes payments by totaling purchases, processing checks, cash, and credit/debit cards.
  • Alerts management of potential security issues.
