This is a position within the Office of Health Information and Data Science (OHIDS). OHIDS is comprised of the Institute for Informatics, Data Science and Biostatistics (I2DB), Bernard Becker Medical Library, and the Office of the Chief Research Information Officer. The above represents an alignment of critical units across the School of Medicine integral in a top-tier academic medical institution.

The Research Project Coordinator will work closely with faculty, staff, senior leadership and portfolio managers assisting with day-to-day activities of research studies in The Office of Health Information and Data Science.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The Research Project Coordinator will work as an integral part of the Payne/Lai lab in OHIDS. The Research Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting OHIDS through a combination of project support and administrative functions:

  • Assisting Portfolio manager in management of day-to-day activities of assigned projects.
  • Working independently or in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Developing and/or formatting reports and other documents as needed.
  • May schedule, facilitate, prepare agenda, materials and notes, and ensure follow-up for various meetings.
  • Drafting and editing various communications to internal and external colleagues.
  • Filing/maintaining notes and meeting artifacts.
  • Utilization of tech tool stack: Microsoft Office, Monday.com, Box, Teams.

 

The employee will work with institute faculty, staff, students, and portfolio managers to support project planning and execution for assigned priorities. Examples of key projects include:

  • Brain Gene Registry: A multi-site registry for rare pediatric gene variants with a goal of better understanding intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Curimeta: A project involving WashU, BJC, and industry partners which aims to accelerate research excellence, advance therapeutics and enhance clinical care. Curimeta also catalyzes new clinical research opportunities throughout the combined WashU and BJC clinical enterprise.
  • Human Data Review Committee (HDRC): Governance committee that oversees requests for data sharing for purposes of product development. This initiative spans both WashU and BJC and serves to provide consistent, transparent oversight of data requests from pharmaceutical, biopharma, and medical device companies.
  • Other research and scholarly initiatives in the Payne/Lai lab as assigned.
