Research Assistant

 

Description:

  • Execute all tasks meticulously following Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), in alignment with regulatory standards such as FDA Good Practices, International Organization of Standards (ISO), and others as specified.
  • Handle materials maintaining requisite temperatures within defined parameters (+30°C to -196°C) as per project specifications and SOP guidelines.
  • Adhere to safety protocols for handling infectious and non-infectious biological materials, chemical compounds, and drug products.
  • Utilize the Inventory Management System for sample handling, ensuring chain of custody and audit trails are maintained.
  • Manage the complete life cycle of samples/materials including reception, manifesting, registration, retrievals, discarding/shipment, and other client-specific tasks.
  • Investigate and document encountered issues using designated systems, generating reports as required.
  • Collaborate with team members on assigned projects, contributing to issue resolution and process improvements.
  • Maintain training records and necessary documentation.
  • Assist with facility and equipment upkeep including cleaning, inventory management, installation, preventive maintenance, and calibration.
  • Adhere to on-call availability schedule set by the employer.
  • For sites with a laboratory, operate laboratory equipment independently, ensure precise use of pipettes, and handle reagents appropriately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent OR Associate Degree plus 2 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience, demonstrating teamwork, self-motivation, attention to detail, and professionalism.
  • Preferred background in Life Sciences and familiarity with GMP/GTP/CLIA.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Initiative-driven with the ability to prioritize tasks independently or within a team.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise judgment in customer interactions.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and other official languages as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for basic and intermediate functions.
