Job Responsibilities
- Provides training and support of precision maintenance processes such as alignment and balancing.
- Develops a world-class lubrication program and monitors performance and execution.
- Provides primary technical support for routine maintenance of fixed equipment including vibration analysis, and other technical evaluations.
- Identifies opportunities to improve equipment reliability through failure and data analysis.
- Leads and supports safety and environmental efforts as a top priority.
- Identifies equipment that has a significant impact on overall facility reliability.
- Works with the Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure critical equipment is inspected.
- Leads Root Cause Analysis investigation & reporting process to determine how to best learn from and prevent them from reoccurring.
- Works with operations and maintenance to develop reliability plans.
- Develops/implements preventive maintenance for equipment reliability.
- Reviews all proposed processes and process equipment changes and proposed engineering projects in the area of responsibility.
- Provides technical support to maintenance personnel on equipment repairs, troubleshoots problems, and equipment reliability issues.
- Guides and supports lubrication, oil sampling/analysis, vibration analysis, predictive tech, precision maintenance best practices, training efforts, and MWS and planning efforts via KPIs and other methods.
- Demonstrates exceptional behavior and work practices and communicates departmental and corporate policies.
- Monitors mill operations and directs the crew to meet safety, quality, operating, process, and production targets/objectives.
- Assists with troubleshooting, both processes, electrical and mechanical.
- Provides crew training and coordinates for job skills and safety. Ensures the crews follow all mill and job requirements and standard operating procedures by interpreting and acting on corporate policy and procedures.
- Integrates reliability-centered maintenance, risk base inspections, equipment condition monitoring, root cause analysis, critical spare parts management, and other reliability best practices in normal day-to-day activities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A thorough understanding of the processes and equipment involved in Pulping and OCC processing.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is desired.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks.
- Able to organize and present technical data in a clear and concise manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills.
Required Experience
- Experience in a mill setting.
- 5 years or more experience in the pulp and paper industry.
Required Education
- B. S. Degree Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Pulp and Paper), or equivalent experiences is preferred.
