Duties

As a Registration Specialist, you will be responsible for the legal control and documentation of NMAfA objects; and the provision of support with all matters relating to the Department’s responsibilities.

In this position, you will:

  • Share responsibility for maintaining the safe storage of all objects, maintain primary responsibility for coordinating the safe movement and storage of works of art within the museum and to offsite storage, and maintain primary responsibility for coordinating the efficient function of storage spaces.
  • Provide support with Museum collection deposits and acquisitions and all documentation and tracking processes, complete incoming paperwork, maintains official records of legal transactions, and create paper and electronic files and supporting material which always record the object’s status and location.
  • Assist with domestic and international loans to and from the Museum and ensures the accountability of all NMAfA collection objects under loan contract.
  • Assist the Museum’s exhibition team with the installation and de-installation of temporary and permanent exhibitions, which are often large and multifaceted, demanding clear organization, preparation and teamwork.
