Registered Nurse

Description:

Ochsner Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care. The role involves using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and professional standards. As a leader in the team, the nurse will delegate tasks, assist team members, and ensure high-quality patient outcomes while respecting cultural and religious diversity. The nurse will also contribute to the strategic goals of the department and support the company's philosophy of nursing.

Responsibilities:

• Use the nursing process to provide patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

• Delegate and manage nursing team resources effectively, including human and fiscal resources.

• Provide leadership and partnership in the interdisciplinary team.

• Use data and knowledge to promote change and achieve optimal patient outcomes.

• Embrace behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and the profession of nursing.

• Adapt care approaches to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.

• Perform other duties as required and maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements.

• Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and accreditation standards relevant to the position.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.

• Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to demonstrate good judgment and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

• Certification in a clinical specialty area.

Physical and Environmental Demands:

• Heavy work: Lifting and moving objects ranging from 10 to 100 pounds.

• Exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue; potential risk for communicable diseases and hazardous materials.

• Works in a patient care environment with potential occupational risks.
