Position Summary: The Regional Director leads and manages two Federally funded programs, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the APEX Accelerator Program at JCCC. The Director provides strategic direction in development of consulting services, programs and resources for entrepreneurs seeking to launch, expand, stabilize or transition their small business in Johnson, Wyandotte and Miami County, Kansas. The Director is responsible for actively engaging in community outreach and legislative events, innovative professional development, fiscal management of JCCC and multiple federal grant budgets, and the collection of economic impact data.

Required Qualifications:
 

  • This position requires a Master’s degree in Business Administration or business- related advanced degree.
  • Five years of business management and five years of supervisory experience.
  • Five years’ experience developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting budgets and/or financial information.
  • Valid driver license.
  • Demonstrated strong written communication.
  • Ability to speak publicly with large and small groups.
  • Experience with grants.
  • Strong use of technology related to database, web, marketing and reporting.
     

Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Past ownership of a small business.
  • Experience consulting with small business.
  • Experience marketing small business.
