Description:
Join the Mui Ho Fine Arts Library at Cornell University as our next Reference and Collections Assistant. Under the general direction of the Administrative Supervisor, Music and Fine Arts Libraries, is responsible for:
- The coordination of public services operations for the Mui Ho Fine Arts Library (FAL) during weekday evening hours and Sundays, as well as assisting in unit libraries throughout the Library as needed.
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with other public services staff to ensure a high level of service and a consistent approach to policies and procedures.
- Depending on subject background, may provide a high level of reference assistance using subject-based resources before referring to librarians for in-depth research consultations.
- Assisting in circulation transactions and overseeing work of student staff.
- Closing the Fine Arts Library most evenings, Sunday-Thursday, and is solely in charge of the library and supervising student staff on Sundays, as well as weekday evenings after other staff leave.
- Incumbent is responsible for all tasks related to collection management and preparing serials for conservation treatment.
- May assist with similar responsibilities in other unit libraries as needed.
