Description:
Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, has an immediate need for a Full-time Records & Registration Specialist in the Office of Records and Registration. The work schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. This is a Non-Bargaining, Non-exempt, Grade 23 position. Non-exempt positions are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. This position is currently eligible for telework 1 day a week after the completion of the probationary period. This eligibility is subject to change based on the needs of the unit.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Serve as a point of contact and service provider for students and the MC community seeking information and guidance on various records and registration processes.
- Process enrollment verifications, outgoing transcripts, disability for tuition wavier forms, student information changes, reactivations, major changes and residency requests, grade changes, academic standing updates and maintain related files. Receive all grade changes and accurately maintain a student's grade history.
- Process credit class registrations and withdrawals for students and faculty in accordance with college policies and procedures, making decisions on all requests for waiver and determine the validity of special permissions granted by other offices or make independent decisions when appropriate. Explain tuition and fee costs and determine waiver of standard procedures of fee.
- Interpret and release information from student academic records in accordance with college policies and procedures, state and federal laws, and FERPA.
- Coordinate, review and approve or deny appeal requests on student involuntary withdrawals, tuition refund appeals, and in-country/state tuition appeals.
- Analyze and approve applications for the Maryland Dream Act in accordance with MHEC guidelines.
- Verify and approve applications for HB 104, Tuition Waiver for Disabled Students. Inform eligible students of processes.
- Administer and interpret academic and residential regulations in accordance with established federal, state and institutional policies and procedures.
- Coordinate, review and approve or deny student residency requests. Determine appropriate exceptions.
- Audit eligibility certifications for all student athletes, Collegewide.
- Other duties as assigned.
