Key Responsibilities:

πŸ”§ Design Leadership:

  • Lead or contribute to the design and analysis of high-voltage substations ranging from 69kV to 500kV.
  • Develop detailed designs including equipment layouts, grounding systems, protection and control schemes, and substation modeling.
  • Prepare and review technical deliverables such as site layouts, equipment specifications, and bills of materials.

πŸ“Š Project Collaboration:

  • Work closely with project managers, permitting teams, and construction teams to align design with project requirements.
  • Assist with project scope development, cost estimates, and schedule management.

πŸ’‘ Problem Solving & Innovation:

  • Identify and address technical challenges within substation design and system performance.
  • Apply innovative solutions and industry best practices to enhance reliability and efficiency.

πŸ“ Compliance & Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards and regulations, including NESC, IEEE, and ASCE.
  • Conduct quality checks on technical drawings, calculations, and documentation.
  • Support internal design audits and contribute to continuous process improvement.

  • For senior roles, mentor junior engineers, providing technical coaching and fostering professional development.
  • Lead design reviews, offering expert insights to enhance team output and design quality.

Requirements:

πŸŽ“ Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related field.
  • Candidates with substantial hands-on industry experience may also be considered even without a degree.

⚑ Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in substation design, protection & control, and/or transmission/distribution engineering within the power sector.
  • Medium to high voltage project experience is essential.
  • Proven project management skills, especially for senior and supervisory positions.

  • Deep understanding of substation equipment, design principles, system protection, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools for design and modeling (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, SKM, etc.) is a plus.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is highly preferred for senior-level roles.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus for project leadership roles.
