Project Manager

 

Description:

The Project Manager is responsible for field oversight of construction progress, quality control, and reporting for plant floor construction, cabling installation in a manufacturing environment . This position will upgrade, add or change control processes for clients, as needed, to ensure the infrastructure is stable, highly available, highly scalable, and meets the performance standards necessary to support current and future business needs.

 

A Glimpse of What You’ll Do

  • Manage client-partner relationships to drive overall project inception and progress
  • Act as point of contact on assigned projects
  • Integrate IT systems infrastructure to the needs of clients’ business operations
  • Estimate financial costs of projects and change orders as required
  • Work with IT leadership to ensure a highly available and highly scalable infrastructure
  • Act as occasional onsite Manager to ensure client expectations are met
  • Work with purchasing and warehouse department for vendor selection and products are received in a timely manner, manage inventory for projects
  • Provide coordination with jobsite foremen to organize crews in order to successfully complete project
  • Document project proposals, costs, oversee and track project from beginning to end
  • Collaborate on problem resolution with clients, vendors and other technical staff
  • Offer infrastructure support to ensure industry standards and best practices are met
  • Ensure job estimating, quoting, costing and billable hours are on target
  • Attend project status meetings with clients and/or contractors
  • Adhere to contract and design specifications while managing cost, schedule and quality
  • Responsible for oversight of all projects through project close and client acceptance
  • Manages multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
  • Contributes to situations in which workload exceeds standard work hours
  • QC installation and have crews fix their deficiencies
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

 

What You Bring

  • Ability to read construction drawings
  • Must have FTTx experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in a Technological field
  • 10+ years in cable/telecommunications construction and project management preferred
