Overview:
The TLT (Teens Lifting Teens) program will focus on building protective factors in teens through training and implementation of near-peer mentoring and service learning experiences. It is a Utah State University 4-H grant funded program (3 years), designed to enhance teen leadership in existing youth councils (4-H youth councils, Youth City Councils, Library youth councils, etc.). We are looking for a part time Program Coordinator with the responsibilities to coordinate program efforts, facilitate purchase and finance tracking, gather and tabulate evaluation data, and assist with curriculum and training. The program coordinator will be working with the program director to implement the TLT program statewide. This position will be based in the Southern/Central Utah region. This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate as a statewide team member – Coordinate with local youth advisors and the grant program staff, teach, help plan statewide training/conferences, etc.
- Recruit various types of youth councils to participate in this grant.
- Train different youth councils and advisors how to implement the grant program within their council.
- Employ innovative approaches that reach diverse audiences (advertise and market). This may include social media, workshops, short courses, seminars, demonstrations, one-on-one consultations, emails, interactive video conferencing, etc.
- Respond to requests, office visits, telephone calls, emails, and correspondence promptly and professionally.
- Evaluate, document, and report impacts. Good organizational skills are necessary.
- Coordinate with administrators and other personnel to manage state program budgets, schedules, leave, and other job-related activities.
- Facilitate purchase and finance tracking for various youth council’s.
- Work evenings and weekends as needed to expand reach.
- Travel to various sites (specifically in central and southern Utah) to provide trainings, and assistance to youth councils across the state. (There is reimbursement for miles driven)
- Support the civil right mandate of Utah State University Extension.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or appropriate relevant experience.
- High degree of self-motivation. Ability to plan, organize and direct educational programs
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written skills.
- Experience in teaching adult and/or youth audiences
- Strong organizational, time, and project management skills.
- Strong computer and technology skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Must have a current driver’s license, auto insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
