Program Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Assist aPA curatorial, marketing & communications, conservation, and development staff to support public art programming and engagement activities

• Coordinate and implement programming logistics, including, but not limited to those for an annual juried artist open call, a large public artwork installation as part of the 250th celebrations, as well as planned exhibitions, tours, and public programs such as talks, workshops, special events, and community engagement activities—both virtually and/or in person • Oversee recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervising program-related interns, volunteers, and contract workers

  • Manage event registrations, venue bookings, and online event hosting services
  • Research, cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with a wide range of program partners, stakeholders, vendors and consultants, including artists, cultural and community organizations, and city government employees as directed
  • Develop, implement, and incorporate evaluation strategies into public programs
  • Bachelor’s degree in visual art or related field, with minimum two years related or comparable non-profit work experience
  • Appreciation and passion for contemporary art, artists, and public art projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Strong project coordination and problem-solving skills; must effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize deadlines simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with ability to manage budgets and contracts
  • Familiarity with Philadelphia and ability to navigate the city with ease; Driver’s license a plus
  • Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, Jotform, Eventbrite, and NeonOne or comparable CRM and Macs a plus
  • An enthusiastic, confident team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices to the work of aPA

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary commensurate with experience $50,000 - $53,000
  • Excellent paid benefits package, including personal health, dental, and disability insurance
