Description:
This position will support the HIPAA Privacy and Security Director in the daily operations of the HIPAA Privacy & Security Program.
Duties & Responsibilities
- 1. Monitor Health Care Components (HCC) with compliance of the Privacy and Security Rules.
- 2. Monitor University of Illinois (UI) activities to ensure HCCs are properly identified, documented, and are compliant with the University of Illinois HIPAA Privacy and Security Program.
- 3. Serve as a compliance resource to the HCCs.
- 4. Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures of the Hybrid Entity, as required by the Privacy and Security Rules.
- 5. Assist with the development and maintenance of the HIPAA training and awareness program.
- 6. Assist with investigating and recommending resolution of complaints concerning UI's compliance with the Privacy and Security Rules
- 7. Assist with establishing and maintaining administrative, physical, and technical security safeguards.
- 8. Assist with investigating and responding to reported incidents.
- 9. Participate in operations of the UI Digital Risk Office.
- 10. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
