Description:

SPIA offers an MPA, MA and PhD in Political Science as well as three undergraduate BAs (Political Science, International Affairs, and Law and Society). SPIA also houses three research centers—the Portman Center for Policy Solutions, the Center for Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation (CTRHT) and the Center for Cyber Strategy and Policy (CCSP).

Essential Functions

The SPIA Strategic Initiatives Program Coordinator will support development, coordination, and planning of mission driven programs and events to advance SPIA’s mission of Public Impact through teaching research and service. The primary essential functions of the position will focus on management and growth of SPIA’s graduate programs.

 

  • Academic and Administrative Support.
  • Serve as primary office contact for graduate academic programs and students.
  • Manage and administer data collection and prepare various reports, including support of the MPA accreditation process working with the MPA Program Director.
  • Respond to various program inquiries (written, in-person, or telephone) from faculty, students, and the general public.
  • Support growth initiatives, including working with external community partners. Financial Duties.
  • Serve as back-up to the Business Administrator.
  • Post scholarship awards and support communication of award letters.
  • Process expense reimbursements via Concur and serve as delegate.
  • Process departmental purchases via University of Cincinnati Purchasing Card.
  • Process Journal Entries.
  • Submit Requisition or Check Request via PACE, and confirm payment to vendor.
  • Track program and event expenses.
  • Generate Labor History reports and reconcile expenses.
  • HR Support.
  • Process hiring request & PCR's for Work Study, Student Worker, Graduate Assistants, and Adjuncts.
  • Serve as primary UC-Flex Timekeeper for hourly positions.
  • Use and leverage back-office systems such as SAP (UC-Flex), CAT2, Slate, Catalyst, and CART to advance mission growth.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
