Description:
The selected candidate will be expected to teach all levels of visual communication design from undergraduate to graduate; fully engage in departmental duties such as committee work; engage in campus activities; and maintain an active record of scholarship/creative activity.
Physical Requirements: In Person Studio Requirements
Teaching requires time with students in the studio and labs. Candidates should be able to prepare and present assignments and evaluate students’ work in progress. A successful candidate should be available for advising and mentoring students during office hours and as needed. Candidates should be able to move between art buildings and administrative buildings on campus for meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Successful candidate must have a broad understanding of contemporary critical theory and practice, mastery of current industry standard design software, and a strong grounding in formal design principles, typography, and layout in her/his own and students’ work. Applicants should demonstrate a strong grounding in formal design, typography, and layout principles in her/his own and students’ work.
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires an MFA or MDes from a regionally accredited institution in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or similar design degree.
Experience using current Adobe Creative Suite is required.
