The Product Manager is the global RRX champion and expert for assigned product lines with primary responsibility for developing and implementing strategies to optimize market share, sales growth and profit, as well as spearheading multidisciplinary efforts to achieve Product Line Simplification, and implementation of 80/20.
This position coordinates the activities of design engineering, as well as any assigned marketing support and application support personnel. Customer segmentation, improvement of existing product, product obsolescence, new product development, and creating an environment to stimulate innovation are key responsibilities.
In addition, the Product Manager may perform market management responsibilities on defined market segments. In this role the Product Manager will be the owner of Columbia City’s assigned products and/or customers, looking for existing and future opportunities to employ our products and technologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- For assigned product lines and market segments, gather, analyze, communicate and coordinate the implementation of necessary changes to address the following:
- Customer needs (VOC)
- Industry/Market needs and trends
- Customer opportunities
- Industry/Market opportunities
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive product and/or market plans for “A” customers, updating regularly and communicating the vision to management for review and support.
- Coordinate Columbia City’s activities worldwide on programs required to support multi-national customers and industries including sales activities, Engineering activities, Logistics activities
- Quotation and launching of major programs
- Manage product line(s) to achieve goals of product growth and profitability, utilizing tools including;
- Product Line Simplification along with 80/20 analysis, and relevant plans for “A” customers as well as Quad 4
- Value engineering exercises, and asset management (inventory, capacity, where made)
- New product introductions, and product portfolio information
- Promotion (PR, sales collateral, trade shows, trade associations, advertising)
- Target customer sales efforts
- Works closely with the appropriate sales and marketing teams, as well as engineering and manufacturing, to keep all informed on pertinent market and product activities and trends at key customers, including;
- Current and future projects
- New or modified product needs
- Competitive activity
- Real market pricing
- Technology and product trends
- Communicate strategic direction on key product and market responsibilities;
- Channels to utilize
- Specific product requirements (features, benefits, costs, technical)
- Desired brand
- Pricing
- Systematically monitor and track market share, segmentation, competitors, industry trends, results from initiatives, goals and objectives, sales, margins, and other key data and report as required by management.

- Ensure coordination and transfer of technology across manufacturing plants and technical organization, world-wide, which produce assigned products.
- Responsible for all commercial activities including:
- Global pricing
- Quotations
- Terms and conditions of sale
- Delivery and lead time requirements
- Apply corporate policies governing the authorization and approval of contracts, quotations, and other commercial transactions.
- Maintains efficient and secure processes related to documents, drawings, intellectual property, customer prototype product orders, product realization, cost estimates, quotes, customer contracts, and other commercial documents.

Education And/or Experience
- BS degree in accredited engineering or business program or comparable experience.
- Additional requirements include strong analytical, communication and conflict resolution skills
- 5+ years of experience required in a manufacturing environment
- Outstanding project management, group coordination, training, communication and presentation skills
- Effective and collaborative problem-solving skills

- Comprehensive Knowledge of Columbia City’s Magstop Products, or previous Product Management and/or Project Management (Product Launch) experience
