Process Development Scientist Ii

New England Biolabs (NEB) is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join the Process Development Team in pursuit of optimizing protein stability and performance. Employing cutting edge technology and the expertise of NEB’s manufacturing science and technology (MSAT) resources, the Process Development Team is well positioned to investigate and resolve issues with our current product portfolio. Parallel projects with our Research and Applications/Development Divisions on novel target proteins will also apply. As an integral member of the team, the successful candidate will implement current methodologies as well as develop novel strategies to clarify and solve the inherent biochemical optima of protein targets.

Primary Responsibilities:
 

• Implement current strategies and utilize instrumentation to study protein stability
• Investigate new technologies and techniques related to protein purification and sample analysis
• Develop novel assays and substrates which promote automated technology
• Research and implement improved methods for formulation science including novel buffer and excipient combinations
• Maintain accurate records and effectively organize, interpret and present data to peers, cross-functional teams, senior leadership and colleagues
  
   

Required Qualifications and Experience:
 

• Ph D in biochemistry, enzymology or similar discipline
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in the life science industry
• Demonstrated ability to deliver technical presentations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Capable of self-management in a fast paced team framework
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
