Description:
We are seeking a Vice President to oversee the underwriting of private credit investments in the senior housing sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and executing credit transactions, developing underwriting strategies, and driving the growth of our senior housing portfolio. This role offers significant leadership responsibilities and direct involvement in high-profile transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the underwriting process for private credit transactions in the senior housing sector, including loans and mezzanine financing.
- Evaluate potential investments through detailed financial modeling, risk analysis, and comprehensive due diligence, including operational, market, and legal assessments.
- Provide strategic oversight in structuring complex debt solutions for senior housing operators, developers, and owners.
- Work closely with senior management and external stakeholders to negotiate terms and finalize transactions.
- Collaborate with the investment team to assess market conditions, identify investment opportunities, and ensure the alignment of credit strategy with portfolio goals.
- Mentor and manage junior team members in the underwriting process, ensuring the development of high-quality investment analyses.
- Monitor and manage the performance of existing investments, conducting regular reviews of senior housing portfolios.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior housing operators, developers, brokers, and other industry stakeholders.
- Prepare and present detailed investment proposals, memos, and reports to the firm’s Investment Committee and other key decision-makers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (MBA,CFA) a plus.
- 6-8 years of experience in private credit underwriting or private equity, with a strong focus on senior housing or healthcare sectors.
- Proven experience in structuring, negotiating, and underwriting debt transactions.
- In-depth knowledge of the senior housing market, including operational and financial aspects, as well as regulatory considerations.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and risk management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong network of relationships within the senior housing industry is a plus.
