Summary:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and oversee medicinal chemistry projects, from target identification to lead optimization.
- Design and synthesize novel small-molecule compounds with a focus on oncology targets.
- Utilize advanced computational tools and structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies to guide compound design.
- Collaborate with biology, pharmacology, and toxicology teams to assess compound efficacy and safety.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively.
- Stay current with industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory requirements in oncology drug discovery.
- Foster a culture of innovation, scientific excellence, and teamwork within the medicinal chemistry group.
- Contribute to the company's intellectual property portfolio by identifying and patenting novel compounds.
Qualifications
- PhD in cell biology/biochemistry/genetics or related field
- Minimum of 5 years in a pharma/biotech experience in drug development
- Background in Small Molecule Oncology a MUST
- Experience with in vivo pharmacology, knowledge of in vitro pharmacology
- Identify and manage relationships with KOLs to help with IND filings
