Preschool Head Teacher

Long-standing preschool is seeking an experienced early childhood educator who can passionately support children’s play, inquiry, creativity, and critical thinking for a teaching position, as Head Teacher. Our school is a small, private, non-profit offering a morning program (with extended day) in East Providence, RI. We are an intentional community of dedicated teachers and families committed to a Reggio-inspired approach to teaching and learning.

Strong candidates will have the following personal and professional attributes:

• A dynamic educator who has a passion for engaging young hearts and minds through an emergent curriculum
• 2+ years teaching in an early childhood setting
• familiarity with the Reggio Emilia philosophy
• the ability to provide a variety of learning opportunities, methods, and materials, which support the diversity of abilities within the classroom
• a deep understanding of early childhood development
• practices thoughtful, respectful, and effective classroom management techniques
• works collaboratively with faculty and communicates clearly with parents
• Bachelor’s degree with RI teaching certification
