Power Plant Operator

Description:

The Indiana Municipal Power Agency (IMPA) is seeking a skilled and hardworking Power Plant Operator to join the generation team at Whitewater Valley Station, a coal-fired steam generating plant in Richmond, Indiana. This role is ideal for individuals with mechanical skills and industrial experience who are eager to operate and maintain boilers, turbine generators, and auxiliary equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Monitor & Control Equipment

• Oversee boilers, turbine generators, and related auxiliary equipment.

• Ensure safe and efficient plant operation under normal and emergency conditions.

🔹 Operational Excellence

• Maintain equipment within safe operating parameters.

• Follow industrial safety procedures to prevent hazards.

• Work rotating shift schedules as needed.

🔹 Continuous Learning & Development

• Maintain progressive learning and adhere to company safety rules.

• Participate in on-the-job training to enhance technical knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

✔ Knowledge of power plant operations or heavy industrial equipment.
✔ Understanding of boilers, turbine generators, and plant systems.
✔ Experience working in a production or industrial setting.
✔ General knowledge of industrial safety protocols.
✔ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent in job training/study.
✔ Flexibility to work on a rotating shift schedule.
