The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher for its Research Innovation Center (RIC) in Albany, OR. This role focuses on Advanced Energy Materials, specifically in the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of novel alloys for high-temperature and demanding energy applications. The selected candidate will work under the mentorship of Martin Detrois within NETL’s Materials Engineering & Manufacturing Directorate (MEM).

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on Ni-based superalloys and innovative alloy designs.
• Perform characterization and data analysis to study microstructure-processing-property relationships.
• Work with state-of-the-art fabrication and manufacturing techniques to develop novel alloys.
• Write technical articles and present research at international symposia.
• Collaborate with leading scientists and engineers in the field.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Doctoral degree (earned within the last five years or completing before the start date).
• Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Physics, Environmental Sciences, or related fields.
• Strong research background in alloy development and characterization techniques.
• Age must be 18 years or older.
