Portfolio Specialist

 

Description:

Job Summary: The Portfolio Specialist is responsible for implementing and monitoring investment strategies. The Portfolio Specialist will also be responsible for contributing to the design and maintenance of Goelzer’s portfolio management system and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement investment strategies in client accounts, ensuring that the firm’s investment strategies are accurately executed and in compliance with client investment policy statements.

• Maintain client accounts against investment policy and strategy parameters, rebalancing as appropriate.

• Collaborate with client advisors to design and execute portfolio implementation plans.

• Assist in the administration of the firm’s trading software, with duties that include security setup, workflow organization, and compliance reporting.

• Organize and execute equity, mutual fund, and fixed-income trades, while ensuring that all trade policies and practices are compliant with best-execution policies.

• Assess and apply technological solutions to provide efficiencies in all areas of the trading and portfolio-management processes.

• Perform related trading duties, such as overseeing trade settlement at various custodians, providing compliance-related trade reports, and administering the trade-error reconciliation process.

• Other duties as assigned.

Work Experience / Knowledge:

• Minimum two years of relevant experience in investment management, wealth management, or related financial services.

• Expertise in trading concepts and processes and portfolio management concepts and tools.

• Understanding of financial markets, investment vehicles, and portfolio management.

• Competency in the use of Tamarac Rebalancer (or similar system such as Orion or Black Diamond) is required.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.

• Series 65 license required (within first three months of employment).
