Infrastructure Design at Mastercard is a team of Technology Architects responsible for the analysis and design of the infrastructure framework to fit the application, platform or system needs in-line with Mastercard's operational standards and engineering principles. Our team is engaged from the beginning of the analysis and design phase to work with the application teams and other critical teams within Mastercard to ensure the completed infrastructure and application architecture aligns with Mastercard’s security, scalability, reliability, and availability standards.This Director position within Infrastructure Design Engineering team will lead talented individuals who are

Responsibilities
- Reviews the existing technical strategy to plan and formulate recommendations based on Mastercard's immediate and long-term business/program needs
- Plans and implements process improvement efforts, within design and implementation build, to identify and test opportunities for automation and/or reduction in time to deployment
- Collaborates with security, A&T, database, and platform teams to ensure that the completed infrastructure and application architecture aligns with Mastercard’s standards
- Oversees Mastercard's platform security to ensure optimal network safeguard processes are running efficiently for hosted production systems
- Collaborates with business stakeholders to communicate Mastercard's strategic vision for future state business/technology architecture to ensure designs meet expectations
- Manages one or more teams, conducts goal setting and performance appraisal processes, mentors and fosters technical talent within the organization
Experiences
- Experience implementing financial and profitability goals to improve business performance and advising on critical OpEx and CapEx expenses
- Extensive experience building strategic and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at the global, regional, and local level
- Extensive experience managing and developing global teams that span across all time zones and geographies
- Experience engaging with stakeholders to communicate difficult issues and reach consensus on major business decisions
- Extensive experience selecting and hiring new talent, as well as coaching and developing organizational talent through career milestones and plan for succession within own team
- Extensive experience leading teams across technology domains, and implementing global architectural standards for performance across all applications, products, and programs
- Experience leading teams in setting standards, implementing policies, and cascading complex security procedures into design
- Experience owning implementation of design principles that promote service resilience and availability
