Pharmacy Manager

Description:

Responsible to provide leadership and operational oversight of long term care pharmacy services to the facility interdisciplinary care teams. Oversee the company’s long term care pharmacists and drive improved levels of care and appropriate utilization of medications. Manage the expansion of the long term care pharmacy services through the organizations business lines and to outside business lines based on direction of leadership. Oversee the operations of prospective intervention pharmacist and work with the company’s dispensing team and management to develop tools and processes to drive this service to all affiliated and non-affiliated customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Oversee/monitor long term care pharmacists to ensure they are properly screening patients/drugs, working with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate treatment options, and effectively communicating findings in the clinical reporting systems.

• Develop pharmacy process standards, guidelines and training.

• Work with internal and external information technology team to develop, implement, and maintain innovative electronic systems/dashboards for pharmacist to monitor drug therapy, address potential irregularities and capture outcomes.

• Develop a long term care pharmacy business that can be marketed and sold to non-affiliated customers and priced according to the premium value-added services the company delivers based upon clinical outcomes data.

• Responsible for selecting, interviewing, hiring and training the pharmacists.

• Provide leadership and guidance to the pharmacists.

• Ensure clinical pharmacists comply with all state laws and regulations.

• Develop annual budget and maintain costs to meet this budget.
