Description:
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage personal correspondence, scheduling, and appointment management.
- Support the achievement of personal self-determination goals by maintaining steady progress.
- Assist with preparing and delivering presentations for Ability Together trainings.
- Accompany me to personal appointments, such as myofunctional or speech therapy, to take detailed notes and facilitate practice exercises.
- Ensure timely and organized handling of all communications, including emails, mail, texts, and other forms of correspondence.
- Assist with setting up equipment for local speaking events and in-person trainings.
- Accompany me to volunteer opportunities, educational events, and speaking engagements as scheduled.
- Capture photos and videos at events for social media purposes.
- Provide occasional tech support as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Schedule:**
- Hybrid remote and in-person work.
- Approximately 16-18 hours per week, typically from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
- Weekly team meetings on Wednesdays from 9:45 AM to 12:00 PM.
- In-person work required 1-2 days per week in Laguna Woods, CA.
- Some Saturdays or evenings may be required with advance notice for board meetings, training sessions, or speaking engagements.
**Qualifications:**
- Ability to represent me professionally and positively at all times, including being punctual, respectful, proactive, and maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
- Experience working with or advocating for people with disabilities and/or those who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing.
- Ability to provide transportation to and from medical appointments, community activities, and events as needed; mileage will be reimbursed.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Proficiency with technology, including webcam, headphones, microphone, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace.
- Comfortable presenting in front of groups.
- Reliable access to a vehicle, a clean driving record, and compliance with transportation safety standards, including proper auto insurance and vehicle registration.
- Ability to maintain a regular work schedule on weekdays, with occasional weekend availability.
- Successful completion of all post-offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including a criminal background check, and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
