Payroll Operations Manager

We are currently hiring an HR Payroll Manager to oversee and manage payroll operations for one of our clients in San Antonio, TX. The Manager of Payroll Operations will be responsible for leading a payroll team within a centralized service delivery model, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and operational efficiencies.

This role requires a proactive leader with strong analytical skills, experience in multi-state payroll, and expertise in working with third-party payroll service providers. The Manager of Payroll Operations will play a critical role in managing payroll processes for the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico while working cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Global Mobility, Tax, Treasury, and Audit teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee payroll teams handling regional payroll processing.

• Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

• Act as a change agent by implementing best practices and leveraging technology.

• Conduct daily reviews of open payroll items and manual check lists.

• Perform monthly vendor performance evaluations against contractual SLAs.

• Manage quarterly adjustments and year-end payroll activities for the US and Canada.

• Coordinate payroll processes for cross-country associate transfers to ensure accurate pay, benefits, and tax compliance.

• Assist Finance in reconciling payroll-related cash accounts accessed by ADP.

• Manage relationships between ADP, HR, Global Mobility, Tax, Treasury, and Finance departments.

• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) payroll policies and procedures.

• Conduct security audits within the payroll system.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting, Business, or Human Resources.

• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface at senior levels.

• Proven leadership experience in managing payroll teams.

• In-depth knowledge of labor laws, payroll tax regulations, and compliance.

• Strong analytical and financial analysis skills.

• Experience in managing vendor relationships and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Familiarity with ADP payroll systems and third-party payroll service providers.
