Are you an expert in U.S. payroll tax law and regulations? Join our team as a Payroll Analyst! You’ll be the go-to person for all things payroll tax, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely filing with government authorities. You'll work closely with our 3rd party payroll tax provider and internal teams, contributing to a smooth and efficient payroll process.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning:
- Assist with implementing key strategies and projects.
Operational Services:
- Stay current with payroll tax compliance laws and regulations.
- Provide recommendations and awareness of changes.
- Resolve employee inquiries/cases within the SLA timeframe.
- Analyze payroll data affecting tax withholding and reporting, identify abnormalities, and propose corrective actions.
- Handle agency tax notices/tracers and validate agency responses.
- Conduct detailed jurisdictional reconciliations for audits.
- Create ad hoc reports to support various functions.
- Execute system testing to ensure accurate and timely changes.
- Monitor internal controls for accuracy and compliance in tax filing.
- Audit and validate payroll tax filings/reports from our 3rd party service provider.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll tax deposits.
- Identify unusual transactions, escalate issues, and coordinate resolutions.
- Assist with Quarter Balancing & Year-End processes with ADP Tax Services.
- Initiate and record earnings and tax adjustments as requested.
- Engage in payroll transactions for Expatriate & Inpatriate employees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Customer Experience:
- Resolve ServiceNow cases according to Key Performance Indicators while providing exceptional customer service.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional groups in Human Resources.
- Equip customer-facing teams with the knowledge to respond to customer requests.
- Guide employees on Self-Service functions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Confirm and improve internal controls.
- Submit change or enhancement requests for compliance updates.
- Provide recommendations for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
- Participate in annual SOX testing and validation exercises.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
Qualifications:
Basic:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of payroll time experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Knowledge of payroll methods, end-to-end processing steps, and best practices.
- Up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Experience with SAAS systems.
- Hands-on experience with multi-state and multi-company payroll.
- Ability to drive meaningful results, manage complexity, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of integrated, cross-functional business systems.
- Strong critical thinking skills for issue investigation and resolution.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect employee privacy.
