Description:
Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Patient Access Associate to serve as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff at the Buffett Cancer Center. This entry-level role involves patient registration, appointment verification, visitor screening, and administrative support, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience.
This position requires strong customer service and interpersonal skills to assist patients professionally while maintaining confidentiality. Healthcare experience and EPIC software knowledge are preferred but not requiredβtraining will be provided for candidates who are eager to learn.

Part-Time
π Monday - Friday | 2:30 PM - 8:30 PM
π Mandatory Training: First 2 weeks, Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and friendly manner.
β
Screen visitors entering the facility to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
β
Assist with patient registration, appointment verification, and wayfinding.
β
Provide masks and conduct symptom screening to promote patient safety.
β
Work closely with Revenue Cycle staff to complete patient registration tasks.
β
Handle difficult interactions professionally and escalate concerns as needed.
β
Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations.
β
Perform general office and administrative duties as required.
π Required:
β High school diploma or equivalent
β Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (within six months of hire, AHA-endorsed)
β Ability to work independently and proactively
β Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
β Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
β Ability to handle challenging customer interactions professionally
π Preferred:
β Prior experience working with customers or patients
β Experience using general office materials and equipment
β Fluency in Spanish (depending on the position)
