Outreach Educator

Requirements: An ideal candidate for this posi7on is a mature, responsible, dependable, calm
individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment; is a people-oriented and
sa7sfac7on driven person; can handle mul7ple tasks simultaneously; and possesses a
flexible schedule. Must be self-mo7vated, self-directed, detail-oriented, and
trustworthy. Superior wriTen and verbal communica7on skills are a must. Exceptional
public speaking and presentation skills in front of diverse groups, large and small
groups of children and classroom management skills are necessary. Must have a
passion for helping people discover and explore science, technology, art, and math.

Outreach Educators will be required to drive a museum van to travel across the region
and will be teaching primarily in kindergarten through 5th-grade classrooms. In
addition, Outreach Educators will be required to participate in science-related
programming events and activities that include but are not limited to school
assemblies, STEM nights, and community events. Off-season duties include but are
not limited to museum education, community outreach event support, and Camp
Discovery support.
