Ophthalmic Technician

 

Description:

Candidates must be proficient in refracting, pachymetry, use of slit lamp, and accurate chart documentation of measurements, ancillary tests, and patient medical history. Experience with OCT and photography a plus. Must have the ability to interact with all patients using the level of respect and professionalism required by the practice, as well as the following:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality
  • Demonstrated comprehension of the ophthalmic technician skills as outlined by the Joint Commission of Allied Health
  • Personnel
  • Personable, empathetic with patient, doctor and staff needs and concerns
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-organized, with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and good typing skills
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to travel to clinic locations as needed (Farmington and Glastonbury)
