Description:
● Provide exceptional customer service to all visitors, including gift shop customers, members, and the general public.
● Operate point of sales retail system, including processing membership transactions and sales.
● Open and close the cash register at the start and end of the shift.
● Field questions and calls from members and the general public in person and by phone.
● Place orders.
● Process and ship online sales.
● Take admissions and provide guidance to visitors.
● Assist with special events as scheduled.
● Perform other duties and office assistance as assigned by the supervisor.
● Maintain knowledge about the American Independence Museum, its programs, events, and membership.
● Organize and order general office supplies.
● Manage and organize volunteer schedules.
Knowledge/Skills:
● Requires some retail experience, including sales and customer service.
● Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
● Clear and friendly communication skills.
● Willingness to work in a team environment as well as independently.
● Self-directed with the ability to maintain merchandise displays.
● Positive, productive, and patient attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.
Education and Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and experience.
● High school diploma or equivalent
● Retail store experience is preferred
● Customer Service experience is required
● Applicants should be familiar with G Suite. Experience with Square POS, Little Green Light database a plus
