Description:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Guidance and Monitoring:

  • Provide expert guidance and oversight to the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial activities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor the progress of financial reporting tasks and address any issues or discrepancies that may arise.

Grant and Receivables Management:

  • Maintain meticulous records of all grants and receivables, ensuring compliance with the financial reporting requirements set forth by funders.
  • Review grant agreements to ensure adherence to reporting obligations and financial guidelines.

Financial Reporting:

  • Produce monthly financial statements, including the Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Activities with budget comparisons, Cash Flow Statement, and comprehensive memos highlighting significant financial information.
  • Collaborate with senior management to review and analyze financial reports, providing valuable insights and recommendations.

Budget Development:

  • Collaborate with senior management and department heads to develop the annual budget, incorporating strategic priorities and financial goals.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Update financial data on relevant reporting agency websites, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required information.
  • Prepare grant expense reports and financial statements for grant reporting purposes.

Financial Oversight:

  • Maintain organized work papers and reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage disbursements, monitor outstanding checks, and oversee cash flow to optimize financial resources.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Liaise with external auditors to facilitate the completion of the annual financial statement audit.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Represent the organization at finance and audit committee meetings, providing valuable insights and recommendations to executive management.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to establish and achieve financial goals and objectives.
