Neuroimaging Software Engineer

 

Description:

The Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) conducts research in the field of aging and dementia, and seeks to establish effective prevention, treatment, and diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. A Software Engineer/Developer II or III is needed to work with neuroimaging research data through software development and programming in various programming languages including Ruby, Python, Javascript, and proficient use of SQL.

The qualified candidate will play an essential role on the ADRC Neuroimaging Core/Data Team in the continued growth and success of Dr. Sterling Johnson's lab. In addition to having technical acumen as a software developer, a successful applicant should demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with immediate teammates and other collaborators, be effective in multi-project management, and be a clear and effective communicator while meeting software and application project timelines.

This position will work in the lab of Dr. Sterling Johnson and under the direction of the Neuroimaging Research Program Manager.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • For level II, at least 2 years of experience as a Software Developer, IT programmer. For level III, at least 3 years of experience as a Software Developer, IT programmer.
  • Experience coding with a modern object-oriented programming language (Ruby, Python, JavaScript, etc)
  • Proficiency with SQL (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, etc)
