Museum Laborer

Description:

This Museum Laborer position is responsible for helping to make sure the facility is clean and well maintained. This position will be expected to assist in basic maintenance, custodial, event support and delivery duties. The successful candidate will have good interpersonal communications skills and a positive attitude that fosters good relationships with the client and a good experience for their customers. This position will support the First Americans Museum in Oklahoma City, OK.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms and spaces before and after meetings and/or events by setting up and tearing down chairs, tables etc.
• Assists maintenance and custodial personnel with minor repairs, painting and or cleaning duties.
• Cleans interior and exterior windows throughout the facility to 8ft height as needed.
• Picks up trash along the building exterior and sidewalks.
• Delivers packages and supplies as needed.
• Responds to any major spills that may occur.
• Sweeps and mops museum spaces and mechanical rooms as needed.
• Clears snow and ice when needed from walkways/doorways.
• Must be able to work evening/weekends when needed, for event support.
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience with custodial and basic maintenance tasks preferred.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
