Description:
This is a part time, temporary position from September to April. This position reports to the Manager of Public Experiences.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Sets up rooms; arranges tables, chairs, and other furniture according to event type
- Escorts vendors, performers and other service providers behind the scenes
- Sets up, tests, and runs audiovisual equipment
- Monitors events and records attendance numbers
- Breaks down rooms; return furniture and supplies to storage; ensures venue's cleanliness and integrity
- Communicates with internal and external clients about their event needs
- Schedules event spaces via a shared Outlook calendar
- Coordinates with caterers, performers and other external service providers
- Coordinates with other museum departments, including security
- Creates run of show documents to summarize plans
- Records attendance for events using Excel
- Organizes and inventories supplies for events
- Assesses and communicates maintenance needs
- Supports other Education Department programs as needed, such as helping manage large groups of visitors
