Key Responsibilities
60% Digital Media Asset Development
- Work with leadership and the statewide coordinators team to plan, storyboard, produce, film, and edit videos. This includes videos that showcase storytelling/impact, testimonials, tutorials, information, programming opportunities, promotions, and more. Curate video graphics to support video creation as needed. Will require statewide travel/driving to attend Partnerships Unit events for videography.
- Create interactive web-based data visualizations to portray information, impacts, and details for statewide Partnerships programs.
- Support statewide coordinators in managing webpages and web content, including program intake forms and landing pages.
- Manage Partnerships Unit’s social media platforms, including the creation of engaging/informational social media content and posts, as well as following/engaging with other related profiles, including channel strategies, content creation, and audience engagement.
- Curate Partnerships Unit’s digital templates, including presentation slides.
- Capture statewide events and impact photos for use in physical and digital assets. Edit photos and manage assets in the Division’s digital asset management system (photo library). Will require statewide travel/driving to attend events for photography/videography.
- Edit, finalize, and post One Oregon podcast.
- Ensure created content and marketing strategies reflect and support OSU’s commitments to inclusive excellence. This includes focusing on increasing access and accessibility and emphasizing cultural and linguistic relevance
20% Graphic Design and Physical Asset Development
- Curate Partnerships Unit graphics, imagery, templates, and branding suites.
- Utilize Partnerships Unit’s data and impacts—working with evaluation specialist, the statewide team, and HubSpot CRM—to curate annual reports, informational one-pagers, and impact snapshots.
- Curate Partnerships Unit event and program-related flyers, half-sheets, business cards, and other physical assets.
- Curate and resize graphics needed for promotional items and apparel (pens, notebooks, t-shirts, etc.).
15% Marketing and Communications Collaboration
- Follow applicable review and approval processes for created marketing and communications content.
- Support Events Manager as needed on marketing and communications for Division and Partnerships Unit events.
- Serve as brand advocate within the Partnership Unit, collaborating with Division brand managers to maintain working level knowledge of OSU and OSU Extension brand guidelines and serve as a resource for Unit employees.
- Contribute multimedia, design, and digital marketing expertise to Division teams and projects.
- Collaborate with the Division’s communications and marketing team to ensure alignment in branding, multimedia and digital marketing efforts.
- Participate on teams and communities of practice related to multimedia, social media and digital marketing to exchange best practices and improve alignment in strategy, content, process and tools.
- Participate actively in the OSU communicators’ network, including attending workshops and meetings held by University Relations and Marketing.
5% Professional Development and Service
- Engage in professional development activities to improve skills, expand knowledge, and remain current with changing technology.
- Engages in opportunities to contribute to and learn about diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice and their implications for communications and marketing work.
- Work on local, regional or national committees or projects of benefit to the university, the Land Grant system, and the public. Provide leadership and service to the digital marketing profession through membership and participation in professional organizations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need
- A Bachelor’s Degree specific to this position include graphic information technology, digital media, graphic design, video design, marketing, or field related to duties of the position.
- Experience with office software such as or similar to Microsoft Suite and tools for collaborative work.
- Experience with graphic design and video editing software (such as Illustrator, Premiere, etc.)
- Evidence of using professional photographic equipment, methods, and technologies.
- Knowledge of still photography, video and other emerging visual storytelling techniques.
- Proven record as an autonomous self-starter and finisher.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills for working with audiences from diverse backgrounds and various cultural identities.
- A commitment to collaborative and respectful learning and working environments that are safe, inclusive, and welcoming.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes and advances in multimedia and digital marketing trends, tools, and technologies.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
